Regional Haze Planning Workgroup Consultation and Coordination Subcommittee

Overview/Purpose for all RHPWG Subcommittees:
The purpose of the subcommittees in their subject areas would be to:
  1. Interact and coordinate with other appropriate WRAP Work Groups for Regional Haze SIP preparation tasks.
  2. Develop principles or protocols to guide RH SIP preparation tasks that are appropriate for western state circumstances.
  3. Determine when and what contract work is needed and assist in preparation of contract tasks and evaluation of work products.
  4. Keep pace of work on schedule for RH SIP preparation
The Consultation and Coordination Subcommittee develops protocols for consulting with Federal Land Managers and States, and coordinating with Tribes. Through regular conference calls, the subcommittee provides for ongoing consultation and coordination among WRAP member agencies and serves as a forum to coordinate regional consultation efforts and collaborate on resources that may be of use to States and Tribes responsible for Regional Haze SIP preparation.

Responsibilities and Deliverables
The subcommittee will maintain a record of conversations, work products, and resources on this webpage for reference in SIP preparation. Anticipated deliverables include:
  • A list of key contacts for western States and Tribes,
  • A timeline of recommended key consultation junctures (both formal and informal) in the SIP preparation process, and
  • A white paper including protocols, templates, and recommendations for outreach regarding Regional Haze among states, tribes, FLMs, EPA regions, local air agencies, affected sources, and the public.
Work Products
  • Haze Key Contacts List (10/03/2018) – This document is a list of primary Regional Haze contacts for the western U.S. It includes state, local, tribal, FLM, and EPA contacts. It should be considered a living document that will be updated periodically as needed. The tribal contacts list will be updated in late-2018 in coordination with the WRAP Tribal Data Work Group.
